AutoCAD - Conversion of material number to ERP parts list
As CAD drawings always contain components with material numbers, it is often necessary to convert the material numbers and BOM numbers from one numbering system to another when switching from one ERP system to another.
The customer is a company that operates in the air conditioning industry.
The CAD system contained around 30000 AutoCAD files. The ERP system was due to be changed from an AS 400 to SAP.
Functions of the AutoCAD conversion tool
The conversion list contained around 80,000 material numbers that needed to be converted from one system to the other. In addition to the conversion list, which was created by the system and stored in a database, the conversion system also recognized errors, some of which were automatically corrected and recorded in the conversion log. If conversion errors could not be rectified, these were also documented in the error log.
